Description
A thin corrugated aluminum plate with one side with thermal insulation.
An effective way to control the heat dissipated by an exhaust pipe or exhaust manifold, for example.
The insulation makes it easy to wrap the exhaust pipe, for example, completely hidden under the insulation.
Fixing is done e.g. with: iron wire or metal zip ties.
This kind of insulation is very good for example in racing cars where the exhaust parts have to be removed and the fibreglass pipes of various wrap-arounds are completely missed when the surface is pure aluminium.
The insulation can withstand continuous heat of almost a thousand degrees Celsius.
