The M142 ECU is a significant addition to the M1 series, specifically designed for the highly demanding needs of Direct Injection (DI) engines. It’s another M1-platform ECU that fully benefits from its advanced features but is optimized for the complex control of DI engines.
Its ability to directly control high-pressure DI injectors without additional hardware, combined with the M1 platform’s immense processing power and full programmability, makes it one of the market’s leading DI engine control solutions. The M142 offers extensive I/O capabilities, a large datalogger, and advanced security features, making it a reliable and powerful tool for tuning, racing, and development.
While the M142 is DI-specific, it also supports port injection, allowing for flexible solutions in engines that use both injection types.
M142 offers a wide range of inputs and outputs sufficient for complex DI engine applications:
- Injector Outputs: 8 inductive direct injection injector outputs.
- Ignition Outputs: 8 low-side ignition outputs.
- Auxiliary Outputs: 6 low-side outputs and 10 half-bridge outputs, which can be used for a wide range of actuators (e.g., solenoids, motors).
- Sensor Inputs: Plenty of analog voltage and temperature inputs (17 analog voltage inputs, 6 analog temperature inputs), 12 universal digital inputs, 4 digital inputs, and 4 knock inputs.
- Lambda Inputs: 2 narrowband lambda inputs.
At the time of purchase, an M1 ECU needs to be Licensed for use with a particular Package or a Development License.
The available M142 ECU+SW packages are:
- GPR-DI (General Purpose Race Direct Injection) package
- RX/Rally package
- DEV (Development License)
